SSC CGL 2018 Exam Pattern and Syllabus:

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern/ Syllabus

In the Tier I Exam the candidates will have to attempt 100 questions of 200 marks. These 100 questions will be categorized into 4 sections where each of the section comprises 25 questions.

(Note: Only online mode is available for Tier 1)

Marking Scheme:
For each correct answer candidates get 1 marks and at the same time for each wrong answer, 0.5 mark would deducted.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern/ Syllabus

Candidates who will qualify the Tier I only they will be able to appear in the tier II phase. It also an online mode exam in which the candidates those who have cleared the Tier I have to attempt answer 3 paper where the third one will be an optional one except the candidates who are applying for Statistical Investigator/Junior Statistical Officer posts. Paper 1 consists of English questions, Paper 2 consists of Quantitative Abilities type questions and Paper 3 consists of Statistical Methods questions.

SSC CGL Tier III Exam Pattern/Syllabus:

The candidates who have been successfully cleared above mentioned two Tiers will be appearing in this Tier. In this Tier which is introduced in last year only SSC mainly focuses on the writing skills of the candidates. In this phase candidates have to answer Descriptive Paper either English or Hindi. This paper consists of 100 marks question in which applicants have to score minimum 33% to qualify Tier III. Descriptive paper consists of 10+2 stranded question. This paper might be consisting of essay/ Passage 250 words and letter/ Application writing of Approx. 150 words. The students may go through the last year papers for better understanding.

SSC CGL Tier IV Exam Pattern/ Syllabus

Candidates who have been successfully qualified tier I, II & III would be eligible for Tier IV. This Tier is comparatively much easier than the rest of the three. In this phase candidates have to clear data entry skill test and then finally he/ she successfully pass SSC CGL exam. Data Entry Skill also known as Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). Here candidates have to type 8,000 words in one hour or 2000 words in 15 minutes. Basically this test is introduced to check candidates Data entry speed in computer.
